Fun places to visit this fall

For a fun inexpensive day bring a picnic lunch or snacks and explore the many beautiful outdoor gardens, have your kids try catching butterflies with their nets, or just relax and read a book together. Admission is free certain days and time of the year. If admission is charged, check the local library for a pass for free or reduced admission.

Ecotorium Worcester, MA https://ecotarium.org/ Ride the train around the outdoor perimeter of the museum property, keep your eyes open and be on the look out for some of the animals that live on the property. Make giant bubbles, try a hurricane stimulator, or explore the museum exhibits. Try using your musuem reciprocity program if you have a membership to a museum. Go apple or pumpkin picking at an orchard. It is not only lots of fun, you are getting fresh fruit and fresh air both which are good for you.

Check out the changes leaves by going for a ride. Fall foliage and its amazing colors can be so fun to see. Spend the day driving, biking or hiking taking in the views.

Go cranberry bog touring! Head towards the south and go on a cranberry bog tour or if you are adventerous sign up to help harvest the cranberries and wade in the bog. If you prefer not to wade in a bog some of the farms offer dry harvesting and allow you to pick the cranberries and keep what you pick.
